Crystal loves (almost all!) Christmas music

I cannot wait until that time of year when Thanksgiving rolls around and two of our local radio stations play it 24/7 for a whole month and a half!

Yes, I adore Christmas music and even consider myself a sort of connoisseur.

Here are some classics which are my absolute favorites:

  • The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
  • Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano
  • Sleighride - Johnny Mathis
  • Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt
  • Rockin’ Around Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - James Taylor
  • Christmas Canon - Trans-Siberian Orchestra

But then there are those I consider pretty creepy:

  • Any Christmas song sung by Amy Grant, Jewel, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban or The Carpenters
  • “Mary Did You Know”, sung by Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd
  • Kenny G Christmas music
  • “Little Drummer Boy” (any version) - don’t know why, but I cannot stand that song, especially the one where Bing Crosby and David Bowie sing a duet! Eeks!
  • “Snoopy’s Christmas” - Royal Guardsmen
  • “Last Christmas” by Wham!
  • “Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town” - Bruce Springsteen
  • “I Saw Mommy Kissin’ Santa Claus” - John Cougar Mellencamp
  • “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by Band Aid - what a load of white man bullsh*t!
  • “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” - Gayla Peevey - Does this kid have a death wish!? Doesn’t she know hippos are the most dangerous animal KNOWN TO MAN?!?!
