In the last month…
Sooo much has been going on that I have not been able to post to my Web log in the last month!
Here’s a little recap:
- Ran 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) in the Salem Lake Trail Run (located in Winston-Salem, NC) in mid-September.
- Celebrated my 30th birthday on September 30th! Clinton, the best husband I could ever have, surprised me with a geocaching adventure (treasure hunt using kayaks, canoes, GPS units) for me and all my friends on Falls Lake!
- My dear friend Christy visited from Nashville.
- Continued training for Dec. 1 marathon with my awesome running group: We’re up to 20 miles (last Saturday), and 16 miles today!!
- Started a Women in Spirit group for women under the age of 40 at our cool hippie church. We had our first meeting last week, and everyone enjoyed it.
- Clinton and I got a new dog last weekend. Eli is a big brownish-black Lab mixed with pit bull. He is a great brother and playmate to Charlie. Such a gentle and laid-back animal. His previous owner let him sleep on the bed, so we’re trying to break him of this habit. Photos of Eli coming soon.
Upcoming excitement:
- Going paint balling tomorrow for the first time for my friend’s son’s birthday party.
- I will be working two weeks in South Africa and one week in Indonesia starting at the end of the month.
- Our two-year wedding anniversary is coming up!
- We’ll be having a non-traditional Thanksgiving potluck celebration this year, inviting friends and family to hang out with us at our house for a home-cooked feast followed by board games. Clinton’s parents and new adopted baby sister will be here from Alabama.
- I’ll be running my first marathon December 1st in Memphis, then flying to Rwanda for work immediately afterward.
