Amazing bike ride weekend
Mary’s Marvels, our team of ten crazy, caped cyclists raised nearly $4500 for multiple sclerosis and biked an incredible number of miles this past weekend at the MS150!
We also had an incredible amount of fun. Some highlights from our trip:
- Camping in Union Point Park, on the water!
- Our night-time prowl through the little town of New Bern, NC, as we cracked ourselves up (and scared ourselves a little) imagining vampires and zombies in the historic churchyards and bed & breakfast inns.
- The exhilaration from biking 79 miles in one day (and amazement that I wasn’t more tired or sore!)
- National anthem sung by woman with MS and heart-string-pulling speeches about living with MS.
- Incredible tan lines from my bike shorts, despite slathering SPF 55 sport sunblock.
- Eating plates and plates of food from the pasta buffet, in the desperate need for “fuel”.
- An entire two days spent making Borat jokes and talking in a terrible Borat accent!
- All the complements we received about our fabulous capes!
A huge thank you to all my sponsors: Mom, Dad, Grandpa Driesbach, Uncle Jim, Kitty, Dan, Ryan, Kate, Carly, Halle, and Mia!
Be sure to check out the pictures, if you haven’t already!
